The US band will play three medium sized gigs in February and then head off for dates in Europe before returning for six massive concerts in June and July, finishing in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

Last week R.E.M headlined the annual Oxfam: Make Trade Fair benefit at London Hammersmith Apollo, where Chris Martin stole the headlines by bounding on stage to sing a verse from 'Man On The Moon'. The following night they played a 'secret' invite only show in St James' Church, Piccadilly - where Thom Yorke was the guest singer, jamming without rehearsal on a note-perfect rendition on 'E-bow'.
