Biffy Clyro to headline Reading and Leeds Festivals 2013
Line-up grows with six new acts
Chris Swindells - 04 February 2013
The Scottish rockers, currently promoting 'Opposities' - their chart-topping sixth studio album and first double disc record, will bring a deluge of hit singles, including 'Machines', 'The Captain' and '57', to the Main Stage at the dual-site festivals this August. Biffy join previously announced headliner Eminem, who was announced back in December. The final Reading and Leeds festival headliner is still to be announced.
Fall Out Boy, who confirmed their return from a 3
year break with a new album today, will play their only UK festival shows of 2013 on the Main Stage at Reading
and Leeds. Another Main Stage addition will be Foals
who release 'Holy Fire', their third studio album, on Feb 11th. The final Main Stage addition today is UK metalcore heroes
Bring Me The Horizon, who return for their third
appearance at the festivals.
Newcomer Jake Bugg will play the NME/Radio 1 Stage at both the festivals, and is the only new act confirmed for the NME/Radio 1 Stage.
Deftones, Alt-J, Sub Focus and hip-hop collective Boy Better Know have all been previously confirmed to play the festivals, which are due to undergo a makeover in 2013. Across both sites there will be more live acts on the line-up. At Reading Festival the arena will be expanded by approximately a quarter and a second arena entrance will be created to ensure easier access for festival goers. At Leeds Festival the site will be altered slightly so that fans will be able to explore the woods for late night entertainment, with details yet to be announced, so stay tuned for further updates.
Reading Festival 2013 will take place in Richfield Avenue, Reading from 23-25 August 2013 with access to the campsite from Thursday 22nd August and early entry access from Wednesday 21st. Leeds Festival 2013 will take place in Bramham Park, Wetherby, Leeds over the same weekend with similar early access arrangements.
Reading Festival weekend tickets and Leeds Festival weekend tickets are available now, priced at £197.50 plus a £8 booking fee. The festivals have also introduced a £50 deposit scheme for 2013, meaning fans can guarantee a place at the bash early and pay the full balance before March 31, 2013.
Additional to these tickets, early entry tickets are available for £15.
