Elton John and his band will play their only UK festival show of 2013 when they close the festival on Sunday September 8. The 'rocketman' from Harrow, previously rumoured by Virtual Festivals, said: “I haven’t played any of the major festivals in the UK in recent years, so when the opportunity to play Bestival came up I was very interested. I’ve heard that the Bestival audience comes in fancy dress and I can’t wait to see that, they must all look amazing from the stage. At various times I have worn enormous feathered head-dresses, cloaks, hot pants, jumpsuits, clown suits, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, French Maid, The Eiffel Tower and The Statue of Liberty onstage! Wearing fancy dress makes us all feel less inhibited so I think it’s a great way to enjoy live music."

41-year-old US rap legend Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr, will top the Saturday night of the festival and bring the Bizzle to Bestival with hits 'Doggy Dogg World' and 'Still a G Thang'.

Bestival 2013 takes place from 5-8 September on Robin Hill Country Park, Isle of Wight and the fancy dress loving, family-friendly festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year.

M.I.A., The Roots and Flaming Lips all play Bestival as their only festival in this UK this year, for Franz Ferdinand and Bombay Bicycle Club the island event will be their only festival in England this year.

The Knife, Belle & Sebastian, Wu-Tang Clan, Disclosure, Sinead O'Connor, The Walkmen, Squarepusher and a returning Jessie Ware also play the the festival this September.

Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Seth Troxler and Julio Bashmore will all play DJ sets across the weekend, and Annie Mac presents will again return with a Big Top line-up to rival last years.

The fancy dress theme for Bestival 2013 has been confirmed as HMS Bestival and Elton John will surely enjoy captaining the cruise-liner all the way to the great island festival this September.
