The email (as shown below) from listing website Songkick was sent on December 15th to their subscribers and listed Daft Punk, The Rolling Stones, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Phoenix as part of the 2013 line-up for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Songkick have since removed the listing information from the site and issued an apology for "unconfirmed information that was added in error".

The festival takes place annually at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, in the Inland Empire's Coachella Valley. This year was the first time the festival took place twice, over two consecutive weekends.

French electro duo Daft Punk last toured in 2007, on the Alive 2007 world tour, and have remained tight-lipped with details about their forthcoming fifth album which is expected to be released next spring and to feature collaborations with singer-songwriter Paul Williams and Chic frontman Nile Rodgers.

The Rolling Stones were linked to the festival over the weekend when Coachella dates were briefly published on their mobile phone app before being removed.

Coachella Festival 2013 will take place from April 12-14 and again from April 19-21, with the large majority of the line-up playing both dates.

This year the Coachella Festival was headlined by Radiohead, The Black Keys and Dr Dre, the latter employing Snoop Dogg and a hologram of the late Tupac for his performance.

Pre-sale tickets for Coachella festival next April have sold out but the final batch of tickets are expected to go on sale in the new year. The general access tickets will be priced at $349 (approximately £220)
