The indie-rock giants from Las Vegas join previously announced headliners The Stones Roses, who top the Friday night bill, and Bon Jovi who closes the main stage on Sunday night at the event in Newport, Isle of Wight.

The Killers have sold over 15 million albums and broke to international fame with their 2004 debut 'Hot Fuss' which featured the hit singles 'Mr Brightside', 'Somebody Told Me' and 'All These Things I've Done'.

Festival promoter John Giddings said: “We are proud to bring one of the world’s greatest rock bands of the last decade to our small island off the South Coast of England…thanks for coming-it will be a weekend to remember!”

Jake Bugg, The Script, Bloc Party, Paloma Faith and The Maccabees have all previously been confirmed for the festival and further announcements are expected early in the new year.

The Isle of Wight Festival takes place from 13 - 16 Jun 2013 at Seaclose Park, Newport on the island and will celebrate its 11th anniversary in 2013 after the original event, held 1968-1970, was revived in 2002.

Isle of Wight Festival tickets are available now, priced at £185 plus booking fee for a weekend with camping, £170 plus booking fee for a weekend without camping and day tickets are on sale at £75 plus booking fee. Child discounts, car park and campervan tickets are also available.
