The one festival date in the US next April was posted onto The Rolling Stones mobile phone app this morning (December 15) before being removed a couple of hours later, though not before a fan had time to take the screenshot below.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival takes place at the Empire Polo Field, Indio, California every April and this year for the first time it took place twice in two weeks as the festival was repeated to try and accommodate the high ticket demand.

Next year's Coachella Festival will take place from April 12-14 and again from April 19-21, with the large majority of the line-up playing both events.

This year the Coachella Festival was headlined by Radiohead, The Black Keys and Dr Dre, the latter employing Snoop Dogg and a hologram of the late Tupac for his performance.

The Rolling Stones last festival performance was at the Isle of Wight Festival back in 2007. The band have long been linked to a performance at Glastonbury Festival in 2013 and this week Keith Richards spoke the NME about the oppurtunity, telling them, "if it could happen, I’d love to".

In October, whilst promoting four live dates in London and New York, the band said Glastonbury was an "interesting proposition", although said at the time that they had made no plans for touring in 2013.
