The announcement is expected approximately midday tomorrow and we will have it here first at Virtual Festivals.

Black Sabbath, Blur, Mumford & Sons and Green Day are the leading rumours to play the twinned festivals next August.

Green Day played a 'secret set' on the final day of the festival this year to a lucky few early-risers under the NME/Radio 1 tent and return to the UK for a string of dates next year in support of their latest trilogy of albums: 'Uno', 'Dos' and 'Tres'.

Black Sabbath headlined Download Festival this year, reforming to play the festival for the first time since 2005, and recently the band announced plans to play Ozzfest Japan, which is moving to the territory for the time.

Pearl Jam, The Prodigy, Metallica and the Arctic Monkeys have also all been linked to the dual-site festivals, which take place over the August bank holiday weekend, from 23-25 August 2013.

Reading Festival 2013 will take place in Richfield Avenue, Reading and Leeds Festival 2013 will take place in Bramham Park, Wetherby, Leeds.

Reading and Leeds Festival 2013 tickets go on general sale this Friday (November 30) at 9am and will priced at 2012 prices (£197.50 plus booking fee for a weekend ticket) until Monday 31 December 2012.

Day tickets will be available in the new year and for the first time there will be a £50 deposit scheme available for people looking to secure their tickets now and pay the remainder of the ticket price in 2013.

The Cure, Kasabian and Foo Fighters headlined the twinned festivals this year. Click here for our full Reading & Leeds 2012 coverage, including reviews, photos and videos.
