The band famed for 'Livin On A Prayer' were formed by lead singer and namesake Jon Bon Jovi in 1983, and have gone on to sell more than 130 million albums worldwide. They were linked to the festival earlier this month when frontman Jon Bon told British tabloid The Daily Star: "It's legendary so we're really glad to be a part of that."
Bon Jovi join Friday night headliners, The Stone Roses, who were announced yesterday for the Isle of Wight line-up.

The Isle of Wight Festival takes place from 13 - 16 Jun 2013 at Seaclose Park, Newport on the island and will celebrate its 11th anniversary in 2013 after the original event, held 1968-1970, was revived in 2002.

So far only the two acts have been confirmed for the Isle of Wight Festival 2013 but David Guetta and Muse have both been rumoured to play the island festival.

Isle of Wight Festival tickets are currently on pre-sale for Vodafone customers, priced at £185 plus booking fee for a weekend with camping, £170 plus booking fee for a weekend without camping and day tickets are on sale at £75 plus booking fee. Child discounts, car park and campervan tickets are also available.

The Isle of Wight 2013 tickets go on general sale tomorrow (November 28) at 9am.
