As we reported last month a local aerospace firm, GKN, lodged a complaint about the festival after heavy rainfall had led to what they called fears about public safety and disorder.

In its application to the Isle of Wight Council to review the licence, GKN said the congestion caused a clear public nuisance.

The application said: "It is accepted the weather conditions were poor. However, this is no justification for the lack of any clear or credible contingency planning by Solo Promoters (and the Isle of Wight Council) to address the bad weather, which caused unprecedented disruption and disorder to the traffic and travel network on the Island."

The festival awaits news today and tweeted this message earlier: "Thank you for all of your supportive tweets! Fingers crossed!"

Festival boss John Giddings has claimed he has an alternative site lined up on the mainland if councillors vote against allowing the festival to continue.

Tickets for the Isle of Wight Festival 2013, which is due to take place from 13th-16th June, are not yet on sale. Bon Jovi and David Guetta are both heavily rumoured to play the three day festival on the island.
