Lamb Of God to headline Bloodstock Open Air 2013

Metal saviours to play Bloodstock for the first time

Chris Swindells - 07 November 2012

The headline appearance will only be the Richmond, VA-based band’s second UK show since the release of their critically lauded ‘Resolution’ album back in January 2012.

Finland’s Amorphis and Swedish black metal legends, Dark Funeral, have also joined the line-up for Bloodstock Open Air 2013, which takes place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from 8-11 August.

Lamb Of God are the second headline announcement after Friday night headliners King Diamond, who play their first ever UK festival show. Anthrax, Accept, Firewind and Fozzy are also all confirmed for the metal festival next summer, the latter two playing their only UK shows of 2013 at Bloodstock Open Air.

Early bird 2013 Bloodstock Open Air tickets for a four-day weekend are available now, priced at £100 plus £6 booking fee.

Lamb Of God formed in 1990 and have, amongst selling millions of albums worldwide, been Grammy nominated and toured internationally with the likes of Metallica, Slayer and Slipknot.

In June of this year the band made headlines when their lead singer, Randy Blythe, was arrested in the Czech Republic for manslaughter after a young fan died at a concert, falling from the stage, when the band played Prague in 2010. Blythe was later released on bailed and has since returned to the US, though maintains he would return to the country for any trial to clear his name.
