Returning to London’s St John-at-Hackney Church, the annual winter music festival, curated by BBC Radio 2 DJ and Mencap ambassador Jo Whiley, will host six concerts from 20-25 November.
Richard Hawley, fresh from being nominated for the Mercury Prize with his latest album, ‘Standing at the Sky’s Edge’, will headline on Wednesday 21 November , with Swedish indie/folk duo, First Aid Kit and London “alt-folk dandy” King Charles in support.
On Friday 23 November, another act nominated for the Mercury this year, The Maccabees, will perform their shortlisted album ‘Given To The Wild’ in full, with nu-blues singer Jamie N Commons and “a very special guest” set to open the show.
Noah and the Whale will be headlining on Saturday 24 November, with Villagers’ Conor O’Brien also on hand for a special solo acoustic performance. Lucy Rose, whose debut album ‘Like I Used To’ made Number 13 in the charts last weekend, and London folk duo Daughter will play that night as well.
Further line-up announcements are expected to follow in the coming weeks.
