A guide to getting Glastonbury 2013 tickets

All the info you need ahead of Sunday morning's ticket rush

Registration

Did you make sure you registered for the festival in time? Registration closed last Sunday (September 30) and won't be open again until after this Sunday (October 7th).

If you haven't registered with the festival, you won’t be able to buy tickets.

Fans who have attended the festival in recent years may still be registered, but don’t just assume that you are, check first.

Simply fill in your surname and postcode into the following online form to find out.

Ticket Price and Deposit Scheme

Glastonbury Festival tickets will go on sale at 9am on Sunday 7 October.

Glastonbury 2013 tickets are priced at £205 (plus £5 booking fee per ticket and £6 postage & packing per order) each, but fans will only be able to pay a £50 deposit this Sunday.

Those that manage to secure a deposit will have a week to pay the remainder of the balance from Tuesday 2 April to Monday 8 April 2013.

The balance payment window for international buyers will be for one week from 25 February to 3 March 2013.

Those buying tickets will be able to book up to eight tickets per transaction this Sunday but will need the registration number and postcode for each person for whom they are booking a ticket.

Anyone who decides not to pay their balance in 2013 will be refunded their deposit, minus a £10 administration fee. Those tickets will then be put forward to a re-sale, which is likely to be in April or May 2013.

Booking Glastonbury Tickets

There are two ways on buying Glastonbury tickets on Sunday: online or by phone.

There will be more tickets available online than on the phone lines.

Those booking on the Internet will be able to buy tickets from http://glastonbury.seetickets.com/Event/GLASTONBURY-2013-DEPOSITS/Worthy-Farm/700000

With passes expected to sell out on Sunday, make sure you have the URL pasted into your browser before 9am so you can start refreshing the page when tickets go on sale.

Emily Eavis, in an interview with the NME, said additional measures had been put in place by ticket seller SeeTickets to ensure the purchasing process was more efficient than in previous years. She said: "We’ve got a new system which we’re trying out, and we’ve had assurance from See Tickets that it is going to work well and be much more efficient. All I can say is that we’ve done all that we can to try and make it as quick as possible and not have people hanging on phone lines for hours."

On the subject of registration and numbers of people who could potentially try to buy tickets on Sunday Eavis remained tight-lipped: "The reason I don’t want to give figures is we don’t want to panic people. There were a lot of registrations but that doesn’t mean that there’s going to be all those people trying. I think it’s really important to feel like everyone’s got the same chance and it’s all going to be over as quickly as possible, hopefully, and hopefully it’s going to work really well. We’ve got high hopes this year with the new system."

It’s still likely that hundreds of thousands of people will be trying to buy tickets at the same time, so be patient. If you don’t get through right away, keep refreshing the page until you do.

With fewer tickets available over the phone, your best bet is to multi-task between refreshing the Internet and trying the phone lines.

Please note that those booking tickets from the UK must pay by debit card. Credit cards will not be accepted.


International Glastonbury Ticket Bookings

International bookings can be made via the seetickets.com website.

For phone orders, the International Ticket Sales line is 0044 1159 934 183, which will be charged at standard international rates.

There is a queuing system for international telephone sales, so be aware those waiting to book will incur additional telephone charges at international call rates as you wait your turn.

Those booking from abroad, make sure you know the time difference as tickets will go on sale from 9am Sunday 7 October (British Summer Time).

International ticket purchases can only be made using either Visa or Mastercard credit cards.

UK sales will not be accepted on the International Ticket Sales Line, or any other Seetickets telephone lines.

It's also worth noting that Seetickets are the only company permitted to sell tickets for Glastonbury Festival, so anyone else claiming to have tickets to sell may well be trying to rip you off.

Buying Tipis, Coaches and Car Parking Tickets.

A limited number of Tipis that can each accommodate up to 6 adults will be available for hire when paying your ticket balance. Tipis will cost £950 to hire. Please note that tipis do not include Festival tickets. Tipis come complete with groundsheet and raincatcher. Everyone wishing to stay in a tipi must have a Festival ticket.

You will not be able to book a Tipi until you have paid the balance for at least one of the tickets on your booking.

National Express have been unveiled as the official coach partner of the Glastonbury Festival.

More festival-goers are travelling by coach to events because of its green credentials, it saves money on car parking and the coach drops ticket-holders closer to the campsite than any other mode of transport.

Seetickets will also be offering coach travel to the Festival. Full information will be available in the New Year, as will information regarding train travel to the festival.

Car Parking and campervan/caravan tickets are £25 and £85 respectively. You will not be able to book Car Park tickets until April 2013 when you have paid the balance for at least one of the tickets on your booking.

If you wish to bring a campervan to the Festival you must book your campervan ticket when paying your ticket balance.

Campervan tickets are available exclusively when paying your ticket balance. You will not receive a separate ticket for your campervan as it will be intrinsic to your ticket order. Consequently, campervan bookings are non-transferable and non-refundable, unless you are cancelling your full order (before May).
