The 51-seat coach was taking festival-goers north on the A3 at 23:50 hours last night (Monday September 10) when the crash
happened near the Hindhead Tunnel, as the vehicle left the carriageway between the tunnel and the Thursley exit and hit a
tree.
Three people were declared dead at the scene and injured passengers have been taken to a number of different
hospitals, including one airlifted to Southampton General Hospital with life-changing injuries, police have reported.
The A3 was closed in both directions as Surrey Police, Surrey Fire and Rescue and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended
the scene, along with crash investigators.
Dave Hannel, owner of Merseypride Travel, said the coach left Aintree
on Wednesday to travel to Bestival on the Isle of Wight.
He told BBC Radio Merseyside he would like to send his
condolences to the families of the people involved in the crash.
The tragic incident follows a sun-stroked weekend
of fun, fancy-dress and good music on the Isle of Wight as Bestival welcomed Stevie Wonder, Florence
and the Machine and New Order to headline the event.
