Watch the latest goCarShare Sessions

Plus there's still time to fill your empty car seats for this year's festivals

Chris Eustace - 04 September 2012

Nu-folk one-to-watch Rachel Sermanni got a lift with Bertie before wowing the BBC Introducing Stage at both sites to star in the first of the new video diaries, with the Highlands singer poised to release her debut album ‘Under The Mountains’ on 14 September.

Good old Andy took Park Bench Society up to Reading – and the Loughborough boys repaid him with one of their impressively lilting indie-ska tunes before they too wowed the new music spotters at R&L. Keep an eye out for their forthcoming EP as well.

The song they play in the video might be called ‘Far Too Late’, but we’re assured that Karen got Yorkshire indie rockers Likely Lads to Leeds Festival on time for them to impress with some ‘Whatever People Say I Am…’-style winners.

You might not get to give the bands a lift, but there’s still time to fill up your empty car seats and split the cost of your petrol, or indeed to find a lift if you’re still in need this festival season – check out the goCarShare Bestival page here, and click here for the goCarShare Festival No.6 page here.

goCarShare is free to use, with sharers contributing to the overall cost of the journey through a recommended tariff. With an easy-to-use interface, goCarShare is built around Facebook so users can screen who they pair up with, using information pulled through from Facebook and find people who are friends of friends and have similar musical tastes.

There’s also an eBay style rating system to help weed out any bad drivers or unreliable passengers. Over 7,000 people have signed up since its launch.
