New acts for Bestival 2012
Zane Lowe, Beardyman and King Charles among the new names

Radio 1’s New Music man will DJ on the event’s opening night, while festival fixture Beardyman returns to fill in for Frank Ocean, who recently cancelled all of his European tour dates.
Jneiro Jarel and DOOM’s new project, JJ DOOM, will deliver a world first debut performance of new material on Friday night at the RizLab stage, while alt-folk troubadour King Charles makes another stop on his summer festival train.
Random Impulse, The Time & Space Machine, Valerie June, Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, the Balearic Folk Orchestra, Brooklyn electro-popsters MS MR, Daytona Lights, Bruno Charles, Isaac Danquah, Rosie Curling and Southern Man are all new additions to the line-up as well.
Platform One, an independent, not-for-profits youth arts organisation specialising in arts initiatives and training opportunities for young people on the Isle of Wight, will host some of the bands that have benefitted from their programmes, including Signals, The Bear Attack Club, In Motion, Stu Collins, The Sessions and Diminished.
More DJs have been announced too, including Alexander Nut, Psychemagik, Slipmatt Propaganda feat DJ Dan, Dick & Dom (Rip It Up), Johnno's Bugged Out Mix, Across The Tracks, Bad Zuke, Tom Headfunk, Paddy Freeform, Pete Callard, The Dudes, The March Hare and The Playground Syndicate.
RSA will present ‘Out of Her Mind’.on the Amphitheatre Stage with comedienne Ruby Wax, as they attempt to “shake off the taboos surrounding mental illness.”
Howard Marks will also return to the festival for more spoken word and anecdotes.
Bestival 2012 takes place at Robin Hill Country Park near Newport on the Isle of Wight from 6-9 September.
Stevie Wonder, Florence & The Machine and New Order are this year’s Bestival headliners, with the likes of The XX, Sigur Ros, Friendly Fires, Justice, Two Door Cinema Club, Hot Chip, Gary Numan, Orbital, Azealia Banks, Ben Howard, Alabama Shakes and Nero among those also on the bill this year.
