The Victoria Park event, which was due to take place on Friday 31st August 2012 has
been pulled by the organisers.
In a statement on the festival's website they said: 'It is with great sadness that
we announce Underage Festival will no longer be taking place this year on Friday 31st August.'
The festival was
forced into moving from its usual date due to the Olympics, but it appears there were further problems which led to the cancellation.
The festival's statement goes on to say that 'unforeseen circumstances with our site hire contract' created issues
which could have risked the health and safety of its attendees, who are all aged between 13-18.
Acts which were due to appear included: Jessie Ware,
Dry the River, Friends, Fixers, Lianne
La Havas, Spector and Pulled Apart By Horses.
Underage festival said in the statement
that full refunds would be available for ticket holders at point of purchase or from the Underage website.
Despite
the setbacks, the organisers are looking ahead to next year when they hope to be 'bigger and better than ever before.'
