Hundreds of fans have ended up being refused entry to the festival over the weekend, with the promoters blaming "third party websites such as Gumtree and Ebay."

They continued: "These fraudulent tickets have been created by unscrupulous parties who are engaging in criminal activity and are preying on young music fans who are not using approved and official ticket outlets such as Ticketmaster and TicketWeb."

A list of official ticket outlets can found at www.wirelessfestival.co.uk/tickets

Live Nation have posted the following information on their website to advise fans that have been a victim of this activity:

"We are sorry that you have been a victim of fraud.

We strongly recommend you contact the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau to make them aware of this matter.  They can be contacted through their website – www.nfib.police.uk

We also recommend you contact your payment card supplier and/or the website you made your purchase through e.g. Gumtree, eBay, PayPal, Visa

Unfortunately we are unable to let you in to the festival as it is sold out and we advise you to make any future purchases through an official outlet."

The sold out festival continues in London's Hyde Park today, with Rihanna set to headline later.
