Wakestock announce new park and ride scheme
Wales' wakeboarding festival has seen heavy rainfall
Rebecca Laurence - 05 July 2012
There's no escaping the fact that heavy rainfall has been a persistent feature throughout the country this summer. And
we all know that persistent rain equals mud, which can be problematic for festivals set in beautiful (and muddy) rural locations.
In order to avoid any inconvenience driving on and off its site, North Wales' wakeboarding and music festival, Wakestock is introducing special facilities to help counteract any adverse driving conditions.
In a statement, Wakestock said, "car parking fields are fairly soft and this may cause some difficulty when driving on or off the site."
Wakestock has arranged a park and ride location at Pwllheli Marina in the Yacht Club car park where festival-goers can park up and meet the shuttle bus service which drops off at the festival entrance.
The shuttle buses run on a continuous loop between Pwllheli Maes, the Yacht Club and the Wakestock Festival site at Pen Rhos.
This facility is also available for people dropping off and picking up festival goers. The car parks at the festival site
will be open but Wakestock organisers recommended that car users use the park and ride as an alternative to avoid potential
Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal, Katy B, Ed Sheeran, Chiddy Bang, Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Rizzle Kicks, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Clement Marfo & The Frontline, Funeral for a Friend and Hadouken are all due to play Wakestock this weekend.
