Peter Doherty cancels T In The Park 2012 appearance

Libs man checks into Thailand clinic...

The ex-Libertines man was set to play the Transmissions Stage on Saturday 7 July, but with the singer having checked into a rehab facility in Thailand earlier this week, he will no longer be appearing at the festival. A statement read:

"Peter is terribly upset not to be able to make this year's T in the Park as it is always a great experience and one of his favourite events on the festival circuit. The decision that he couldn't do it was not one taken lightly but the important reasons preventing his attendance this year are clear. Peter has entered a facility to deal with pressing medical issues. We hope you wish him well on this major step he has taken and wish T in the Park as successful an event as ever."

Kasabian, Snow Patrol and The Stone Roses will headline this year’s festival, with the likes of Tinie Tempah, Florence & The Machine, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Nicki Minaj, Elbow, McFly, Swedish House Mafia and Bombay Bicycle Club also set to play.

T in the Park 2012 takes place at Balado Park near Kinross, Scotland from 6-8 July.
