Mumford and Sons have cancelled festival performances in Norway and Sweden this weekend, after singer Marcus Mumford broke his hand last week.

The band were scheduled to play Northside festival in Denmark on Friday night (June 15) along with the Hultsfred festival in Sweden tonight (16).

Mumford and Sons have several European festival dates coming up in the next few weeks, including the Southside and Hurricane festivals in Germany (June 22, 23), Rock-A-Field in Luxembourg, Rock Werchter in Belgium (30), Open Air St. Gallen (Jul 1), Tendenze festival in Verona (2), Spilla in Ancona (4), Harvest of Art Festival in Austria, Poland's Open'er (7), Bilbao BBK Live (13) and Optimus Alive in Lisbon (14).

A statement on the band's website says: 'No other Mumford & Sons shows are expected to be affected.'

Mumford and Sons, who have an album due out in September, have just headlined RockNess festival, as well as the ‘Gentlemen Of The Road Stopover’, featuring two big festival-scale events in Galway and Huddersfield, along with a short tour.
