Phone lines were jammed this morning as music fans rushed to grab tickets to see the reunited and reinvigorated
Pixies play the Forum, in London, on Friday,
20th August - the night before the band's two performances at the sold-out V Festival.
Rivalled perhaps
only by Glastonbury in the redial stakes, the alt-rockers have become this summer's 'must see'. Their five
gigs in Brixton Academy in June also sold out in record time.
The latest tickets went on sale at 9am this morning
and were unsurprisingly snapped up in a matter of minutes, after the news was announced on XFM's breakfast
show.
Frustrated fans have been logging on to auction sites all day, with tickets already changing
hands for up to five times their face value.
One told us: "I saw them in June and they were amazing.
I'm also going to V, but any chance to see them and I'm there. I couldn't get through this morning though so I'll just
have to wait another day!"
Pixies play the
V Festival in Weston Park, Staffordshire on Sunday, 22nd August, and Hylands Park,
Chelmsford, on Saturday, 21st August.
