Tonight looks unsettled for the festival, held across various venues in Brighton, with light rain forecast from late afternoon until midnight tonight. The temperature will hardly fluctuate, staying between a mild 12-13°C, even into the early hours.

Tomorrow (May 11) looks a lot more promising with patchy sunny spells throughout the day though temperatures will only peak at 15°C in the middle of the day, dropping sharper Friday night to a low of 6°C, though the skies should remain dry for the evening.

The final day of the festival (May 12) should be dry again with sun forecast for the early hours but more cloud cover expected in the evening. The pollen and population count for the weekend will stay low and festival-goers shouldn't have to worry about bringing the thermals or heavy-duty waterproofs for the duration.

The Great Escape 2012 will feature performances from Maximo Park, The Temper Trap, Africa Express Sound System, Alabama Shakes, Mystery Jets and Alt-J.

The Great Escape tickets are on sale now, with a 3-day wristband priced at £51 (including booking fee).
