Azealia Banks cancels festival dates in 2012
RockNess, Wakestock all affected, Bestival back on...

Chris Swindells - 27 April 2012
The singer/rapper has pulled out of five UK festival appearances, including Lovebox, RockNess,
Parklife Weekender, Rough Beats and Wakestock.
Her performances
at the Reading and Leeds Festivals, on 25 and 26 August,
will go ahead, along with her performance at Bestival, which had initally been among her cancelled dates,
but will now go ahead as scheduled on 8 September.
Her autumn UK tour will also go ahead as planned.

A statement released by Banks's team
said: "A decision has been made by her new management that she needs to get back into the studio and invest more time
on her forthcoming debut album Broke With Expensive Taste."
Rough Beats festival organiser Mike McSherry admitted
"gutted" by the news, saying: "It would have been her first major headlining show in the UK and we were pretty
chuffed about getting in there early and backing her to be a great act even before her debut releases.
"I
think her management have made the right decision. As great as her Coachella performance was, the UK audience is going to
need more than half hour of material from a headliner."
RockNess Festival confirmed the news
on their site with the following statement: "Sadly it’s just been confirmed that Azealia Banks has cancelled all of her UK shows this summer
as her management want her to concentrate on finishing her new album. Naturally, all at RockNess are disappointed as were
really looking forward to seeing her live show but watch this space for more announcements soon."
