New acts for Summer Sundae Weekender 2012

Mercury Prize-winning rapper Speech Debelle, Agnes Obel and Rhode Island five-piece Deer Tick are all new to the bill, while The Leicester All Ska’s Reggae Big Band, featuring members of The Paradimes, By the Rivers, Kingsize and El Pussycat, will play as one 20-piece big band, performing songs from all four bands, with members of The Specials’ brass section also set to feature.

Clock Opera, Loney Dear, Bowerbirds, THePETEBOX, Molotov Jukebox, Tiny Ruins and Leicester locals Jersey Budd and Little Night Terrors are also new to this year’s line-up.

Joining the BBC Introducing Bill are a number of acts hailing from the East Midlands, including the hotly-tipped Jake Bugg, plus These Furrows, Kenworthy, Buenos Aires, The Daydream Club, Park Bench Society and Nancy Dawkins.

Summer Sundae Weekender 2012 takes place at De Montfort Hall and Gardens, Leicester from 17-19 August.

As previously reported, Public Image Limited, Katy B, Ocean Colour Scene, Death In Vegas, Billy Bragg, Tune-Yards, Jonathan Richman, Ghostpoet, Lianne La Havas, Asian Dub Foundation, Willy Mason and Reverend and the Makers are among the acts set to play the festival this year, with more still to be announced.

Early Bird Adult Weekend - £95.00 (£105.00 from Monday)
Early Bird Young Persons (14-17) Weekend - £60.00 (£70.00 from Monday)
Early Bird  Child (5 -13) Weekend - £30.00 (£35.00 from Monday)
Child 0-4 Years Weekend - FREE
