It'll take some doing to top last week's Sir Bruce Forsyth announcement, but today Hop Farm Festival have come close by adding a raft of new acts to their 2012 bill.
Richard Ashcroft (playing his only UK show), Kool
& The Gang, George Clinton with Parliament/Funkadelic and Randy Crawford head up a strong group which also features Gary Numan, The Levellers, British Sea Power and Gruff
Rhys.
Other artists announced today include: Howling Bells, The Tallest Man On
Earth, Gomez, Gruff Rhys, Field Music, Peter Hook &
The Light, Bellowhead, Ian Hunter and Marcus Foster.
They join a line-up which is headlined by Peter Gabriel,
Bob Dylan and Suede
along with Damien Rice, Patti Smith, My Morning Jacket, The Stranglers
and Primal Scream.
Hop Farm organiser Vince Power said: “I’m very
happy with the bill. We have yet again put together a unique line-up of acts you’re not going to see repeated anywhere
else. We have some true legends including Patti Smith and Randy Crawford and I think that’s what music fans look for."
