Leading up to its 10th year anniversary, Download Festival will be dedicating its main stage to the 'father of loud' and the man responsible for 'the sound of rock'.

Download promoter, Andy Copping said: "The music industry lost an innovator & a legend with the sad passing of Jim Marshall. We had to remember him in some way and having the main stage dedicated to his name seemed the perfect tribute.”

The legendary rock festival has also announced 19 new additions to its already impressive bill, including Swedish heavy metallers Ghost, Saint Jude, Shadows Fall and My Passion.

Also announced are Feed The Rhino, La Dispute, Breed 77,  Lawnmother Deth, Six Hour Sundown, Silent Descent, With One Last Breath, The Union, No Americana, Royal Cartel, Tyla, The Dirty Youth, Yashin, Voodoo Johnson and Sanguine.

They join a line-up which will be headlined by Metallica, Black Sabbath and The Prodigy.

Download 2012 will be held at Donington Park on 8-10th June 2012.
