Liverpool Sound City 2012 adds more bands

James Vincent McMorrow, Django Django, Tim Hecker, reformed local heroes Space and indie veterans The Wedding Present are also on board for the event’s fifth birthday celebrations.

Lower Than Atlantis, US sensation Willis Earl Beal, Don Broco, Futures, Eugene McGuinness and VF Ones To Watch Sissy And The Blisters will appear as well.

Other acts confirmed to play at Liverpool Sound City 2012 include The Big Sleep, Thunderbird Gerard, Still Corners, Mugstar, Stealing Sheep, Stephen Langstaff, The Kill Van Kulls, Electric Guest, White Arrows, The Night, Lulu James, EJ, Said The Whale, Dan Croll, Capac and Ex Easter Island Head.

The festival’s partner countries are also bringing over some emerging talent, with New Zealand bringing Pikachunes, Princess Chelsea and Midnight Youth to Merseyside whilst Australia are represented by Step Panther, Millions, Inland Sea, Ben Salter, Bonfire Nights, Oliver Tank, Wim, Jackson Firebird, The Bowers and Sietta.

Canadians Jordan Cook, Kestrels, Ben Caplan and Slow Down Moasses will be there, whilst Denmark and Italy provide Strangers On A Train and The Second Grace respectively.

They joined the previously-announced likes of Professor Green, Death In Vegas, White Denim, Michael Kiwanuka and Alkaline Trio on the bill for this year.

Liverpool Sound City 2012 will take place in various venues around Liverpool on 17-19 May.

Liverpool Sound City tickets are on sale now with a three-day wristband priced at £30, with delegate passes at £120, until Monday 2 April at midday, when prices will rise.
