As ever, a slew of fake festival posters purporting to show this year’s line-up are doing the rounds on the internet, ahead of the official line-up announcement at 7:15pm on Monday 12 March, when tickets for both sites will also go on general sale.

Holy Moly are the latest outlet to claim that Robert Smith and co. will be appearing at Reading & Leeds, saying that they are “soon to be revealed as headliners.”

Foo Fighters and Kasabian appear as the other two headliners on the majority of the posters.

Other popular rumours online include Florence & The Machine, Kaiser Chiefs, The Maccabees, Two Door Cinema Club, perennial festival favourites NOFX and possible returns for Bloc Party, At The Drive-In and Refused.

It’s not thought that any poster that’s surfaced so far is completely correct, with the latest couple to circulate showing Placebo appearing on Friday at Reading, which would be extremely unlikely given that they are confirmed to play at the Rock Im Pott festival in Germany that day, while another has The Enemy, who are confirmed for V Festival the week before and therefore also unlikely to appear, on the line-up.

Reading Festival 2012 and Leeds Festival 2012 take place on 24-26 August at Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, Leeds respectively.

Reading 2012 ticket prices and Leeds 2012 ticket prices are yet to be confirmed by organisers but Ticketmaster is displaying £200.50 (£192.50 per ticket plus £8 fees) as the cost.

The festivals’ organiser, Melvin Benn, has recently spoken out about the twin events and answered questions from forum users.
