No acts have been confirmed for the Truck
Festival line-up yet, but the first acts are expected in the coming months.
The event was spared an
uncertain future by the organisers of Y Not Festival earlier this year.
Ralph Broadbent, Director of Y Not,
who has fronted the successful Derbyshire event for the last six years had a chance initial encounter with the promoters of
Truck: “Robin came to Y Not a few years ago and played – that was where we first met. We’d heard about
the bad news with Truck and then bumped into Robin at the UK Festival Awards. We met the next day and over breakfast it became
clear that there might be a way to save this great event.”
He added: “We have obviously
lowered ticket prices but still making sure we keep all the things that have made Truck great – the layout of old, the
community feel and loads of great bands plus the legendary Barn Stage will return!
“It is
really a mixture of the old and the new, we want to take Truck forward to a bright new future, we have a brand new website
on the way, obviously an amazing new line up yet to be announced but all the while ensuring that everyone who has always supported
the event, in the local community and beyond will recognise this as Truck festival.”
