The Cure added to Optimus Alive 2012 line-up

They join Radiohead and The Stone Roses in Portugal

They join Radiohead and The Stone Roses on an Optimus Alive line-up that also includes Florence and The Machine, Justice and Snow Patrol.

Caribou and Mazzy Star will also perform over the weekend with many more acts to be announced in the coming months.

Optimus Alive 2012 tickets are available now price at £45 for a day ticket and £103 for three-day pass with camping, or £89.10 without camping.

The Cure have announced a string of European festival dates in 2012 including Roskilde Festival, Les Eurockeennes de Belfort, Hultsfred, Hurricane and Southside.

Robert Smith and Co. are expected to announce more festival dates in the coming weeks, though they don’t appear to be in the shake-up for any of the major UK events so far.
