Mozza shows 'em how to Move

The Virgin Trains Move festival drew to a close last night, amid a truly moving performance by 'local boy made bad' Morrissey, who wowed an adoring audience on his home coming.

The former Smiths star capped off four days of drizzly excitement with an euphoric ninety minute, career-spanning set, which kicked off with 'Don't Make Fun Of Daddy's Voice'. Talking to crowd throughout, he explained how he worked near Old Trafford Cricket Ground, where the event was held. Striding on stage in front of huge, Elvis style lights spelling out his name, Morrissey declared: 'I'm a local boy made bad'.

Speaking about his new single, 'The First Of The Gang To Die', he quipped: 'We've got a new single out. It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it, so I hope you'll all trundle down to Woolies.'

The capacity crowd posed a stark contrast to Stereophonics the night before, who played after the Pixies. Crowds herded out the exits after the reformed Pixies played a triumphant hour-long greatest hits set which closed with a violently delightful 'Where Is My Mind'.

In a four day festival which saw Keane's Tom Chaplain drunk and disorderly in the bar, along with Madness cheering up the crowds and The Cure being miserably indulgent, local boys Elbow also in a terrific performance. Former James singer Tim Booth mysteriously refused to play 'Sit Down' although the aforementioned Stereophonics indulged the crowd with a fair proportion of their classics.
