Bowie in heart op scare

His spokesman said he underwent an angioplasty procedure to treat "an acutely blocked artery", adding
that he was now recovering at home in New York with his wife and daughter.
Bowie was treated shortly after playing the Hurricane Festival, in Sheessen,
on June 25.
He said: "I'm so pissed off because the last 10 months of this tour have been so fucking fantastic.
I can't wait to be fully recovered and get back to work again. I tell you what, though, I won't be writing a song about this
one."
Last month, 'the white duke' announced to thousands of disappointed fans that he would have to cancel
the rest of his European dates, including scheduled appearances at T In The Park and Oxegen
this weekend.
Fans were not told about Bowie's more serious health problems and the reason given was that he had suffered
a trapped nerve in his shoulder while playing a gig in Prague.
Doctors advised the 57-year-old, who released his latest album 'Reality' last year, that his
heart condition would only get worse if he kept performing.
But his spokesman
put to rest fears he may be out of action for some time and said Bowie "hopes to start work next month on a new record".
