Download planning to rock Europe

The new kid on the block sets its sights on some new street corners!
Born in 2003, Download moved into profit this year, following the success of its two
UK festivals in Donington Park and Glasgow Green in June.
The massive rock-fest
featured the likes of Linkin' Park, Slipknot, Korn and a historic performance from Metallica
(who spontaneously drafted in replacements from other bands to fill in for their ill drummer!).

Festival organisers are now looking to take Europe by storm, having identified a gap in the market for heavy rock
and metal events, which also incorporate their popular X-games.
Another reason for the
planned expansion is that Download boasts state-of-the-art interactive digital communications technologies,
such as the Download Dog, which Virtual Festivals has been helping the company to pioneer.
Stuart
Galbraith, vice president of Clear Channel Entertainment, which promotes Download, told Audience
magazine: "Part of the game plan is to develop Download as a multi-day event with other legs throughout Europe.
"It
will be used in markets where it's not going to conflict with existing Clear Channel festivals."
It is, as yet, unknown where future
Download events could be held on the continent, but VF will announce any news as it happens.
Until
then, Download will be focusing on making sure another amazing festival is laid on for UK
punters next summer!
