Bruce Springsteen tops Hard Rock Calling 2011

The Boss will also headline the Isle Of Wight Festival 2012, closing the festival on Sunday

The US rock legend, famed for hits 'Born in the USA' and 'Thunder Road', will be the main attraction
on the Saturday night of the event which takes place in July, three years after he last topped a Hard Rock Calling
bill. That same year 'The Boss' also headlined Glastonbury Festival for the first time with a critically
acclaimed set.
On June 12, 2011 founding E Street Saxophonist, Clarence Clemons, suffered a stroke
and died six days later from resulting complications, at the age of 69. Steve Van Zandt wrote on his web
site "We will continue to make music and perform. Let's face it, that's all we really know how to do. But it will be very
different without him."
Tickets for Hard Rock will go on sale on December 3, with a total of around 150,000 people expected to attend the event which takes place from July 13 to 15.
The event has previously taken place in June but moves to new dates in mid July for 2012.

Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Neil Young and The Who
have all headlined previous Hard Rock Calling line ups. Kasabian are currently rumoured
to be playing the 2012 Hard Rock Calling
event.
