Speaking to NME last week, singer Tom Meighan outlined the band's plans for a series of open-air shows
next summer, including a hometown show in Leicester and one in the capital.
He said: "We want to do four big gigs
next summer – one in the Midlands, one in Scotland, one in the north of England and one in London. Hyde Park's calling."
When pressed if that meant Kasabian
were playing the similarly named festival next year, he simply replied: "I think it needs to be done."
The band
headlined Isle Of Wight Festival and Rock Ness earlier this year, prior to the release of
current album 'Velociraptor!', and will head out on a UK arena tour at the end of this month.
That tour will
culminate in a New Year's Eve show at the O2 Arena with Chase & Status and Zane Lowe, before heading out to Australia
and New Zealand to play the Big Day Out festival.
Check back later in the year for the Virtual
Festivals New Year’s Eve guide, which will recommend the best gigs, festivals and nights out around the whole
of the UK.
