Black Sabbath to top Download Festival 2012 line-up
They will join Metallica at Donington - ticket details

Daniel Fahey - 11 November 2011
It will be the first time the band have played with their original line up since they last played Download Festival
back in 2005.
Andy Copping, VP of Promotions at Live Nation said, “The reunion of the original
line up of Black Sabbath
has been one of the most talked about stories of the year. I am thrilled that the band will return to Donington Park next
year to help us mark 10 years of the Download Festival.”
This follows the news
yesterday that Metallica will play ‘The Black Album’
in full at the festival.
Speaking about the news, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said: "We have not been to the hallowed ground of Donington since
2006, we're so looking forward to coming back."
Speaking about 'The Black Album', he added: "We are playing
the one that's called 'The Black Album.' We've never played 'Don't Tread On Me' and we've never played 'The Struggle Within'
[or] 'My Friend Of Misery'. That's three songs we've never played, I guess we're going to have to rehearse!"
With no other acts confirmed, Download Festival 2012 rumours include a very rare performance from Van Halen.
