Now in its fourth year, the conference will this year discuss issues including festival funding in Olympic year, how
to maintain customer loyalty and there'll be a keynote Q&A with Festival Republic MD Melvin Benn.
The confirmed
discussions are:
'Open Forum: How many hats can one person wear?': This session will give delegates the chance
to quiz the panel on what skills a promoter needs, with “business advice and tips for financial and creative success.”
'Pedal to the Medal: Will sport beat festivals in the Olympic sponsorship marathon?': Here, “two dedicated
sports sponsorship specialists go head-to-head with two music aficionados to debate the merits of spending on sponsorship
in music and/or sports in the Olympic year.”
'Weather – Or Not' will reflect on 2011's stage collapse
tragedies and seek to “uncover answers2 over what went wrong and how they can be prevented in future.
In
'From Online to Onsite – How Social Commerce Can Boost Your Business', a panel of “Social media commerce experts
will present the possibilities and advise how to get even more out of online for a festival.”, while 'Keeping Up Appearances'
will “examine the ways organisers are adapting to the potential saturation of the marketplace and key survival tips
to make a festival stand out from its competition.“
Melvin Benn will be on hand to “give his opinions
on the UK festival industry.”
There will also be a presentation of the UK Festival Market Report –
a business review of the market, incorporating results from market research of festival-goers’ opinions, a dedicated
networking and exhibition lobby plus a drinks reception.
