Sonisphere Festival: Video highlights
Guess the 2012 headliners and win VIP tickets!
Chris Swindells - 31 October 2011
In 2009, Sonisphere put hard rock back on the menu at Knebworth House which after the
close of this year’s event will have seen it host such headliners as Metallica,
Iron Maiden, Rammstein,
Slipknot and Biffy Clyro. 2011 sees the mighty
venue carving out fresh rock history, as it accommodates the first ever appearance by The Big Four on British
soil.
Sonisphere 2012 will take place at Knebworth House from 6-8th
July 2012.
Knebworth House has been the home of the Lytton family since 1490, and – as one of the world’s most iconic outdoor music venues, has contributed a great many chapters to the annals of rock history since 1974, when The Allman Brothers Band hired the location to play the first ever concert there. Since then Queen, Led Zepplin, The Rolling Stones, Frank Zappa, Deep Purple, Oasis and Robbie Williams have all played the venue.
This summer Sonisphere played host to it's own chapter of rock history with it's biggest line up yet, over three days, in front of more than 60,000 fans. UK rock legends Motorhead, and Mastodon, In Flames, Parkway Drive, Diamond Head, The Mars Volta and Limp Bizkit all featured in the rock-heavy line up.
Iron Maiden, Rammstein, Faith No More and My Chemical Romance have all
graced the Sonisphere stage across Europe – but who will headline the three nights at the legendary Knebworth House
next July?
Plenty of rumours are circulating as to the headliners of Sonisphere 2012, but
organisers remained tight-lipped as to who has or hasn’t been booked for the fourth installment of the UK leg of the
music festival.
