222,000 tickets for the shows at Heaton Park, Manchester from June 29 -
July 1st sold out in 68 minutes.
The first two shows announced this morning sold out
in 14 minutes. On receiving the news Ian Brown said: “We plan on spending the rest of the day jumping
up and down with our hands in the air.”
After days of speculation over a possible return the band announced
in a press conference on Monday they were to reform
for a world tour in 2012 and to write new material.
Rumours now continue about possible UK and European dates in 2012, including festival dates at V Festival and Phoenix Festival next summer.
