Rumour Mill update: No Radiohead European Festival dates next year?
Ed O'Brien seems to rule out any European outdoor shows on band's 2012 tour

Speaking to 6 Music, the Radiohead guitarist outlined the band’s touring plans, but seemingly ruled out any major European festival appearances next year.
"We're finalizing dates now, we'll be on the road from the end of February to November and we'll be playing in both the UK and US, the usual ports of call."
Hmmm, “the usual ports of call”, eh? But before you rush to speculate on which huge field you might get to see them in next summer, there’s more:
“Last time we went out it was 'In Rainbows' and a greatest hits. It's not going to be like that this time. It's going to be predominately from this record and the last one and then we'll see which songs fit around that."
Ok then, no ‘Creep’, we can live with that, that’s fine. Oh hang on, there’s still more...
“Some of the shows will be outside, but the ones in Europe will be inside and I think that's very much a reaction to when we played last time. We played in the height of summer and compromised our production. Outdoor gigs can be great, but the sound can get diluted, you're at the mercy of the elements and I think the record demands a space where the music is loud, strong and detailed.”
Hmmm...it’s not looking good for a Radiohead 2012 festival show on this continent then, perhaps another surprise slot somewhere where they aren’t under pressure to do the hits? Or a slightly more leftfield event like Bestival, where ‘The King Of Limbs’ might go down better?
Oh well, there’s always Glasto 2013. Over to you, the Roses...
