Pukkelpop to return in 2012
Festival continues after the tragic events of the summer

Chris Swindells - 17 October 2011
After the horrific scenes from Pukkelpop 2011 when
a storm ripped through the site and left five dead, festival organisers have confirmed the event will return in 2012.
Pukkelpop 2012 will take place 16-18 August at Kempische Steenweg, Belgium.
The festival this year was cancelled on the first day (August 19) after a severe storm caused extensive
damage to a number of stages, killing five people and injuring more than a hundred people.
Eminem, Foo Fighters, Deftones, and 30 Seconds To Mars were all due to play Pukkelpop
2011. So far no acts have been confirmed for the Pukkelpop 2012 line up.
Between
Tuesday 1st and Monday 14th November 2011 anyone who brought Pukkelpop 2011 tickets online will receive an email with which they will be able to download
food & drink vouchers worth 75 or 150 euros for the next three editions until 12 midnight on Sunday
11th December. The vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
In an online statement Pukkelpop organsiers
said:
"Pukkelpop has suffered considerable financial losses. The festival will only be able
to survive with the support of many and thanks to the strong reputation it has built up in the past. The consequences of the
Pukkelpop storm will weigh heavily on Pukkelpop, the festival as well as the organization, in the coming
years."
Dates and details of the Pukkelpop 2012 ticket sale have yet to be announced
so follow Virtual Festivals on Facebook
and Twitter for all the latest announcements as they are made.
