"One thing I really want to do before all this ends is to headline Glastonbury, as we've always had an incredible
time playing there," Kasabian guitarist Serge
Pizzorno told the Daily
Star. "The one thing you need to pull off a good Glastonbury headline show is fucking good tunes and we've got enough
of them to do that."
Singer Tom Meighan added: "All we need is a phone call from Michael
Eavis and we'll be there for 2013."
Kasabian
have played two Pyramid Stage slots warming up for headliners, once in 2007 for Arctic Monkeys and again
in 2009 preceding Bruce Springsteen's Saturday night headline set. The pop-prog wizards in the Britrocker
guise have been threatening a move to the biggest festival stage for a while now.
Kasabian's fourth studio album 'Velociraptor!' was released on the 16 September and
was the band's third number one charting album.
Radiohead
are also rumoured for Glastonbury 2013 after they posted footage of their surprise secret 2011 set on their website and said they "can't wait to do
it again soon". Well was it Yorke and gang being polite or was there something more in it? The festival
rumours continue.
