Record for most festivals visited in 30 days broken
Greg Parmley earns place in the Guinness World Records book
Daniel Fahey - 21 September 2011
Parmley, who’s epic trip can be watched in his video diary above, managed to squeeze in a mammoth 26 events into
his journey, which took him across much of Europe.
As
previously reported, the journalist travelled between the UK’s Glastonbury and High Voltage
festivals via the likes of Rock Werchter, Rheinkultur, Paleo Festival Nyon
and some 21 other European festivals.
The epic trip, which took in around 5,500 miles of road, happened in July
but has only just been confirmed as a record-breaking achievement.
Speaking about his achievement, Greg told Virtual
Festivals: "It’s great to be official, although this definitely won’t become an annual race – if anyone
wants to try and beat it next year, good luck to them!
"For me, the trip was about experiencing some
of the best festivals in Europe, so being in the book next the world’s hairiest women, or the most expensive fungus,
is just a bonus! Now I just have to think about how to top it next year."
The festivals Greg visited were
as follows:
Glastonbury
Hard Rock Calling
Graspop Metal Meeting
Rock a Field
Pennenzakkenrock
Rock Werchter
Summerjam
Rheinkultur

Rock for People
Malta
