Vote in the UK Festival Awards 2011
Help decide Anthem of the Summer, Best Headline Performance, more
Festival-goers can also pick the Best Breakthrough Artist, Best Overseas Festival and
a newly category for this year: The Fans’ Favourite Festival.
Virtual Festivals readers helped decide the shortlist for Anthem Of The Summer with Pulp’s ‘Common People’ proving the most popular.But voting has been reset for the shortlists with Aloe Blacc’s ‘I Need A Dollar’, Bombay Bicycle Club’s ‘Shuffle’ and Chase and Status’ ‘Blind Faith’ among those in the running.
Other tracks include Ed Sheeran for ‘The A Team’, Foo Fighters’ ‘Rope’, ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ by Foster The People, Friendly Fires with ‘Hawaiian Air’ and Jessie J’s ‘Price Tag’.
Muse’s ‘Knights of Cydonia’, My Chemical Romance’s ‘Na Na Na’, Noah and the Whale with ‘L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.’ and PJ Harvey’s ‘Let England Shake’ are included too along with Primal Scream’s ‘Movin' On Up’ and Viva Brother’s ‘Darling Buds Of May’.
Voting will close on Monday 10 October.
Other awards that will be presented at the UK Festival Awards 2011 ceremony on 15 November include the categories of Best Major, Medium and Small Festivals, Best Metropolitan Festival, Best New Festival, Best Toilets, Best Family Festival and Best Line-Up.
These will be decided by a judging panel made up of journalists and reviewers who have scored each festival according to criteria set by the industry.
The following Awards are decided by UK Festival Awards’ panels of experts and media partners, and will be announced on the night: Agent of the Year, Concession of the Year, The Greener Festival Award, Best Sponsor Activation, The Extra-Festival Activity Award, Outstanding Contribution to Festival Production, Promoter of the Year and the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
