Oxjam, now in its fifth year, is the UK's biggest charity music festival. It lasts for a month with over
9,000 bands playing around 800 venues nationwide in order to raise money for Oxfam’s humanitarian work all over the
world.
The charity shops gigs will run from 26-30 September, whilst Oxjam will run throughout October.
The undisclosed Oxfam shop in London will be converted into a gig venue with four nights of music to kick off the month
long charity festival.
Fatboy Slim, with support
from Kissy Sell Out and Man Like Me, will open the show on Monday 26 September, while Tuesday’s line-up sees
Brett Anderson play alongside Patrick Wolf
and Ghostpoet.
Wednesday’s performance
will feature Charlie Simpson with additional acts
to follow.
The Thursday night show will feature DRC Music and celebrate the release of 'Kinghsa One Two', an album
recorded in the Democratic Republic of the Congo by Totally
Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Richard Russell (XL Records), Kwes (Warp Records)
and others, in order to raise funds for Oxfam's work in the country.
The location for the Oxjam launch gigs will
be disclosed the week before the events.
Tickets for the Oxjam charity shop shows are extremely limited, and are
priced at £25 for each night of music, though Thursday’s event costs £20.
