Having won Best British Female at both the Brits
and the NME Awards earlier this year, her festival adventures this summer could easily, and understandably,
been merely a victory lap.
Instead, as she’s graduated to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury,
reduced the Cambridge Folk Festival crowd to a reverent
hush, managed to win out against an impromptu
game of mini-rugby at Green Man and played triumphant sets at Camp Bestival, Wilderness, Honeyfest
and last week’s End Of The Road, she’s treated festival-goers to a preview of her third album
‘A Creature I Don’t Know’.
Those who’ve taken in any of these performances
will have already noted the more confident, darker nature of these songs, with the likes of ‘The Beast’
and ‘Sophia’ showing that her way with a story and a melody are as strong as ever – and
VF has the whole album for you to stream below.
So what do you think? Did you see Laura on any of her festival dates? Let us
know.
‘A Creature I Don’t Know’ is released on 12 September.
