As reported
last week Frank Turner will be joining Crazy
P, Fellow Stranger, and more on the Sailor Jerry's Ink City stage.
Marcus Brigstocke will be appearing twice,
first with Andre Vincent for the Early Edition
and later as a solo act, alongside other comedy acts such as irishman Andrew
Maxwell, canadian Craig Campbell and
cousin of Martin Freeman, Ben Norris.
Ian Stone, Carl
Donnelly, the Story Tellers Club, and Fringe favourite Tony Law will also be appearing across the weekend.
Organiser Rob da Bank said; "Woo hoo! 3 days to go
and site is really starting to take shape and we can't wait to welcome you all. I've also been busy adding yet more bands
and DJs to our already fit-to-burst line up, plus some of the finest comedians in the land."
The organiser
reiterated festival goers once on site can get to the venue by bus, coach, car, or taxi. There will be no pedestrian access
on the Downs Road and no pedestrian drop offs outside the main entrance.
There will be a shuttle bus running
between the Robin Hill entrance and the Downs Road entrance through-out the event weekend to prevent both staff and public
walking in the road.
Once on site you can also earn yourself FREE TEA. All you need to do to claim
your free cup of tea is to pick up the litter in and around your tent, pop it all into the freely available black waste and
green recycling (cans, plastic bottles, newspapers, leaflets, cartons) bags and take a full(ish) bag to the recycling pen
next to your nearest Campsite Hub. A friendly Green Team member will make you a fresh brew to say thanks.
Reporting
from the island for the NME at the end of last week, Rob
da Bank showed how much progress was being made on the site, watch the video clip below.
Bjork, Pendulum
and The Cure are set to headline Bestival 2011
which takes place at Robin Hill, Isle of Wight from 8-11 September.
Friendly Fires will play an exclusive set of collaborations
with dance and electronica artists on the Rizlab Stage over the weekend, click to watch exclusive video footage of the trio rehearsing and explaining their plans for the day long
takeover.
Tickets for Bestival 2011 are currently
sold out but secondary tickets may become available at face value through The
