UK Festival Conference 2011 details announced

It will take place at the same time as the UK Festival Awards

Organised by the UK Festival Awards team, both events will take place on the same day, Tuesday 15 November, with the Conference taking place at the HMV Forum in London.

Now into its fourth year, it promises a day of “debates, discussion, networking and information sharing” and a “focus on the most important issues in the industry,“ as well as a presentation of the UK Festival Market Report – a business review of the market, incorporating results from the Festival Awards’ “newly-commissioned exclusive market research of festival-goers’ opinions”, which organisers promise will be “the most accurate study of audience habits ever undertaken.”

There will be six panel sessions featuring experts in their particular fields, with discussions on how to deal with bad weather in the light of the recent stage collapse tragedies, how best to use social media, and tips on how to survive in a crowded marketplace already confirmed, along with a keynote Q & A with Festival Republic MD Melvin Benn.

“Platinum Tickets”, which include entry to both the Conference and the Festival Awards, dinner and the after-party, are on sale now, priced at £250.
