As can be expected when you book a band as big as Madness, pretty much the whole of Reading turn up. The Nutty Boys have skanked the test of time and remain ingrained into the British consciousness, that’s why every track they this evening is echoed straight back by the crowd.
Although a little less energetic than some of the other acts to grace the main stage this year, Madness perform with great poise and enthusiasm saving the best for last with 'Baggy Trousers', 'House of Fun', 'Wings Of A Dove' and 'Our House' all sneaking in at the tail-end of their set.
The ideal tonic with the sun still out, but they might have fallen on slighter deafer ears with a later set time. As it is, this is definitely a highlight of the weekend.
