Yuck - Reading Festival 2011 review
'bad stage manners but exemplary grand swagger'
Chris Swindells - 27 August 2011
Waking the fuzzy heads under the NME/Radio One tent, Yuck
look content to lay back into their showgazer roots.
Opening with 'The Wall' all four of the alt-rock outfit look even more mellow than usual as they stroll through an early Saturday afternoon set.
'Georgia' has taken a new life since being spirited up as an early demo last year. "We played last year to the Festival Republic Stage and there was about 200 people there. We just hope they're here now." Bassist Max says, breaking the silence before introducing new song 'Milkshake'.
Closing on 'Operation', Yuck have demonstrated horrid stage manners but an exemplary swagger. It's blown away the cobwebs and scissorkicked the eight-eyed beast out of play for a Saturday schedule packed full of hard in-your-face attitude.
